DVDWS skipping steps 1-4 while authoring [help]

hello,
When i "Make Disc" on the finish tab in Ulead Workshop sometimes it goes thru the all of the steps 1/6 etc (converting video title etc) and takes a very long time, sometimes freezing at 100% when the movie is finished (but its not)
Other times it seems to zoom thru all of the steps until it gets to number 4 or 5, and then takes a while...but it is much quicker.
Why does it do these 2 different things? i prefer the fast one obviously, and want it to do that on everything i try to burn.
I assume it has got something to do with format or something but i dont know exactly what.
