I don't know what the hell is going on, when i'm trying to convert Mpeg to Divx 3 low-motion with VirtualDub, file's getting even bigger instead of getting smaller, like 426mb mpg = 650mb avi (divx3).
What i do wrong? What setting should i change, cause i'm leaving all default.
Any help would be highly appreciated, otherwise i'll use crappy wmv.
If you know any other mpg to avi converters tell me, i don't care which one i'll use i just need reduce the size without changing the quality all that much.

I've ben using:
o o o o o o o o o o o o o [40] key frames (default is 20)
o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o 100%
o o o o o o o o 800kbits o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o
on a 1 minute encode, it's under 4MB in size.
Does that help ??
also, what size are you encoding to, 352x240, 320x240, 640x480, etc. ??

I tried divx3 , divx4 and xvid its still have bigger size then mpeg have.
And size is same as the mpeg one, which is tv show so its probably 352x240 or 320x240. Codecs doesn't have resolution setting anyways.
