  1. Hello,

I recently bought my first VCD'd they will not play on my mac's CD-rom or DVD-rom. I have tried quicktime, and all the MACvcd players, with and without speed tools. DVD player is no help.
I also cannot convert the .dat's because the .dat's cannot be copied off the cd. The error message i get whenever i try any thing is "format not recognized" which dosent make any sense. So the encoding on these is "different".
    anyone know any special trcks????

    thanks
    HIYA!

If you boot into OS 9 directly, you can open the .DAT file in Quicktime. This is an option if you want to try it.

What I would try in your situation is using the Application called "Video Lan Client". This one plays nearly everything except of Chess and Stud Poker.

You can get it here: http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=14738&db=mac

But it will only play on osx.
