    Hi,

I have VCD1.ISO and VCD2.ISO. Each contain similar folders and files. The file AVSEQ01.dat is present in both the iso's (different sizes though).

Do I need to merge them, and if so how? And which program is best to play the videos?

    Thanks for your help!

What do you want to do with them? Make a DVD or just play them? VLC can play the video in most ISO container files. VCD resolution is valid for a DVD, but the audio needs to be converted from 44.1Khz to 48Khz for it to be DVD compliant.

    And welcome to our forums.

Thank you, nice to be here

At this point I just want to play them as I'm not even sure what they're about. Trying to play avseq01.dat using VLC gives me garbled sound and a black screen which makes for interesting but not-really-satisfying viewing .

And yes, if it's worth keeping than I guess I would want to burn it to DVD.

Extract the mpg out of the ISOs with VCDGear.
Then the mpg(s) can (should) be played with any video player, and authored as is with TDA.

they are most likely disc images of vcd cd discs. use a burning prgram that handles iso images - like imgburn to burn onto cd. they can be played in some standalones or most dvd software on your comp will play them.

VLC is able to play ISOs as if they were mounted disks.

In VLC, just do "File/Open File" and select an ISO.
It should start playing it as if you had loaded a VCD.
