  1. Hello everybody,

I began trying to convert a divx avi to mpeg using tmpgenc and got all kinds of problems with that. So next i'm trying to use virtualdub to capture the audio. But here's my problem. When i use the full processing mode i get a parameter error. Does anybody know what is causing this and how to fix this. Or maybe another program to use to extract the audio.

    thanks,
    eric

  2. If you just wan't to get the audio as it's stored in the DivX you can leave audio on "direct stream copy" and "Avi audio" and select "Save Wav" under file. Make sure you enter a filename ending with .mp3. Otherwise it's possible that some programs interpret the audio file incorrectly.
    Regards,

If you're only attempting to capture the AUDIO only, there are various ways.

    -Method #1-
Use TMPGEnc, select the video as Input for Audio. Choose Audio Only option. That will result in an MP2 audio file. If you need to make it into a WAV file, use Winamp to decode the MP2 file to WAV.

    -Method #2-
Use SoundForge to open up the video and choose the Save As option and export it as a WAV file (or any other supported format).

    -Method #3-
Use VirtualDub to extract the audio portion as stated on the previous post above...

    Good luck.
