Hi. I just tried converting my first DV-AVI (type 1) file to an SVCD MPEG-2 file using TMPGEnc. I got no error messages and burned to CDRW with Nero. The video looks perfect on my DVD player but the sound is messed up. The only way I can describe it is it's "demonic"-sounding. It's like playing an LP on the wrong speed except it's not slow and there are no sync problems. The frequencies are just too low so my voice sounds like some sort of beast and my wife's voice sounds more like mine. Any ideas?
Also, since I'm burning with Nero anyway, couldn't I just have it encode the avi file when I go to write the disc? Will this work? What about quality compared with TMPEG?
Thanks.

what you want to do is get a prog named avi2vcd and use a tool it has to decomperss the avi file (the sound really) and then you encode using that.
