  1. Hello all. I am very new to this site, so if this topic appears on here already, I am very sorry. I have a problem with Nero telling me that the disc is not big enough to fit the movies I am burning. Is there a way to compress the films to make them fit? thank you.

A regular DVD-5 holds about 4.37GB. If you have already authored your file to DVD, then you might try DVDShrink to reduce it to a smaller size. Of course it would be better to create it in the proper size to start with.

If it's a MPEG and you don't have the original file, you can use a program like ReJig to reduce the size. It works similar to Shrink, but for MPEGs. Shrink works with authored DVD files. (VIDEO_TS folder)

More info on the DVD format and specifications is available to the upper left in 'WHAT IS' DVD.

IMO, if you are just burning a authored DVD file (The VIDEO_TS folder), you might try ImgBurn instead. It accepts the VIDEO_TS folders in 'Build mode'.

    And welcome to our forums.
