Error?? DIVX to MPG

Hello, i need help..
i have AVI(DIVX) and i want to convert it to mpg, i have trying using virtualdub and also tmpeg but when i use tmpeg, it said error... why does TMPEG can;t open the avi files.. but some of the avi files, can open it..
can anyone help me?

how to convert divx (avi) to mpg with easy? so i can burn it as VCD

Ok, I had this same problem. I also had to search far and wide for the solution on some no-named message boards. But anyways, here's how to fix that little problem. While in TMPG, go to options, then enviromental settings. Then click the tab VFAPI plug-in. There should be a list of things there and to the right of them, a certain value. It's the priority of the job specified. Set all the priorities to 0 except DirectShow Multimedia File Reader. Set that priority to 2. You can lower and raise priorities by right clicking in the priority column box and then clicking lower or raise priority. I hope this helped you. Everything should work now!
