On2 VP7 Personal edition

what the heck is this? i don't remember installing this as i don't know what it is. i looked it up and it's some kind of codec, but it wasn't clear exactly what i needed it for.

does anyone know what this is for, and do i need it? it may have been installed with a codec pack that i am now trying to clean up.

is that going to conflict with other codecs?
i'm having mad problems getting ripbot264 or xvid4psp to open any videos. i had 2 codec packs installed (32&64bit), and was told that is probably the problem, however i have since uninstalled those and replaced with individual codecs. i have new avisynth and haali installed, can't figure out what the problem is.
