Sorenson is ridiculous, VP6 is good, H264 is better.

  3. is it true that H264 requires flash 9 and that may be too heavy for older machines to decode?

is it H264 really that much better (quality/file size ratio) that its worth it to accept those two disadvantages?

yes you need flash9, yes it's heavy.
at reasonable frame dimensions it shouldn't tax much.

    that much better than vp6?
    i don;t think so,
    I quite like vp6.

    try it for yourself.
    the only/best way.

    take your specific content,
    encode both ways and see...

  5. ok its decided, im gonna use vp6, but here is something else
is 16:9 aspect ratio supported by this codec? Since i didnt find that option in all the software i tested

if its not, is resizing 16:9 720x576 raw avi to 1024x576 flv gonna do the job ok?
