Philips 5982 - Problem with HDMI sound

I have a Philips DVP 5982 player that I connected to my TV's HDMI input.

I then went into the player's settings, Digital Audio, and set HDMI Audio to On (these are not the exact titles, but if you've set this up, you'll hopefully understand what I'm talking about).

Everything's fine and dandy, except, every other time I turn off and then turn on the player, that setting gets reset to Off, and I need to manually change it back.

Has anyone run into this before?

This is a known problem with this player.
You can set your tv to DVI instead of HDMI and run audio cables to the tv or you can try to make sure that you turn of the player before you turn off the tv.
I chose to go with the first one.
