Having read the posts concerning Pal/NTSC capture. I need some basic info about WinDV. I capture from my Cannon minidv and when I used WinDV, it gave me several .avi files. Most capture programs just give me one large file(6-10gb), that I store on my backup HD, burn to DVD, then erase. (Mainly family stuff and grandkid Bball games). How do I get one large file from WinDV? Enosoftdv started giving me problems and I can do it with Vdub, I don't understand all its options.....

In the Config menu change Discontinuity Threshold to 0 and set the Maximum file size to 150000 and you'll transfer an hour as one file

There is also this guide which explains all the WinDV settings: http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/33/59/
