  1. I'm having some trouble burning an AVI to a DVD:

First, I encode it using tmpgenc 2.5 for DVD NTSC which, at a bitrate of 4700, 720x480 gives just under 4G.

When I go into DVD Author 1.6 select the source, it says this will take up almost all of a 4.7G disc, which is fine. I encode

When I get to Nero 6, Nero shows me that this will occupy only HALF the disc, and sure enough, when I burn it, a visual check of the back of the disc shows about half-used.

I tried to DVD author two such files, but Nero went WAY over the limit and wouldn't burn. What is happening?

Is one of the sizes being reported wrong? Could I fit two such things on a disc, or perhaps 1 with better resolution?

Something's going amiss with Nero. I'd suggest you're not using Nero Burning ROM and the DVD-VIDEO template, or you're not adding ALL of the files in the VIDEO_TS folder.
    If in doubt, Google it.

So TMPGEnc DVD Author tells you almost 4.38GB then you bring the VIDEO_TS folder into Nero and it only takes up half the disc ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

After you have TMPGEnc DVD Author write out the VIDEO_TS folder ... what is the size using Windows explorer?

Also when I use TMPGEnc DVD Author I have it write out the VIDEO_TS folder as it does then I use it to create an ISO file then I burn that ISO file with ImgBurn. I don't understand why you would use NERO ... puke
