Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I felt this would be the pest place though. If necessary, feel free to move it.

I copied some VHS taped to DVD in my combo unit, the only problem is that while it most of the time burned it in 4:3, it also burned it in 16:9. Does anyone know a way I can rip the DVDs (I know how to do this) and then modify the rips to they are the proper size? For a further read on my problem, please see...

    Thanks!

Rip the DVD, then use PGCEdit to change the flags on the title to be 4:3 instead of 16:9. Finding where the flags are is the hard part. Changing the flag once you find it is easy. Once you've changed the flag and saved the changes, re-burn with imgburn.

Like I said, the hard part is finding the flags that aren't set correctly (I've only done this a couple times in PGCEdit and can't remember exactly where it's at).

Thanks for the tips so far, I'll have to try them tomorrow and post the results. As for the settings, they are at the factory default. The player now has the problem that the tray keeps opening and closing, so unless I can figure out how to fix it, I'm in the market for a new one. Have you had any experience with the Panasonic "DMR-EA18K"?
