Bad disc. Most of the time that is what this error means. Just to make sure clean all of the dust and fingerprints off of the disc.

Most set top DVD players will play disks with read errors. They skip over/ignore the errors, in most cases. However, most copy software will not ignore read errors. So when you try to copy a disk with read errors on your PC, the copy program cannot continue when it encounters these errors.
One exception to this behavior in copy programs seems to be DVD Fab Decrypter. It may take significantly longer to copy, but it will copy *many* disks with read errors. Try DVD Fab Decrypter. It might work. Like I said, be prepared for a slower process.
To avoid this in the future, check your disk copies for read errors immediately after you copy them. Also, don't buy blank DVDs that don't work well with your burner. Find out which DVDs these are and stop buying them.
