  1. What would cause a movie to become "stretched" out. I have a XVID movie that is 2 files, it is 608x336, NTSC (film). They look fine if I just view them on my DVD player (I have a divx dvd player), but if i want to create a DVD so I can bring them and watch them elsewhere the video gets "stretched" - meaning in the beginning when it is showing the credits they are not in full view half of them are cut.

    I am running version 2.0

Hope this makes sense and someone will be able to help me.

    Thanks.

    Have a look at https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=282396

Are your TV & DVD Player NTSC by default?

  3. Yes my tv and dvd player are ntsc by default. I don't think I have had problems in the past playing PAL movies though? Just seems to be this one.

I can maybe try another and see what happens. Any other suggestions?

  5. I will have to check when I get home. What are the drawbacks (besides taking longer) is the convert PAL -> NTSC option? Is the degradation in quality that noticeable?

    Thanks.

You said your sources were NTSC->Film, therefore PAL to NTSC is not relevent here.

  7. Yes you are right, I was confused because it has the same aspect ratio of another file I had that is PAL (608x336).

Well it will still be interesting to see how it plays on the PC... Can you view it on other players too to see if we can isolate the problem?

  9. I will try that tonight and let you know.

Thanks for the help. I think this happened to me before and I just used a converter like Procoder to do it because all of the divx -> dvd converters did the same thing.

Let's hope we can figure it out.
