Ok, I am new to Dvdlab, and new to authoring dvds period..
I tried following this guide https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=220092
First off, I am using DVDLAB PRO 1.52, the dvd's that it has made so far hasn't worked in Windvd, they don't come up at all.. if I OPEN the directory VIDEO_TS in VLC (Video Lan) the menu will come up, but the object that I have put to LINK to the first movies SCENE SELECTION don't work.. I have made it where it will AUTO select after 60 seconds, but it goes straight to the first chapter, I can then move forward to the next chapter, but I can't bring up the chapter selection menus
I will describe all the steps I have take real fast, for example I just tried to put ONE TV episode through it..
OK, I start off w/ choosing NTSC , NORMAL (vts menu + Movie)
The episode started out as a VOB, I add it to MOVIE 1 and let it encode it or whatever it does.. where it turns it into VTS_01_1.mpv & VTS_01_1.ac3
I add them to movie one, I let it auto make chapters, when that is done I
click the arrow next to the wand and select "add scene selection menus" and choose for instance the last one, the green circular style..
it reminds me to link it back to menu 1 or whatever..
next I double click on MENU 1, put a pic as the background, I put a object on the page, I choose to link it to "Scene 1 For Movie 1"
and then give it a 60 second timer in the "PBC tab" and then put 1 & 1 in the boxes below where you put 60 seconds..
(now, that SHOULD have made the link to be able to go to scene selection for movie one if clicked RIGHT? And if not clicked go there after 60 seconds.. right?) (Instead it isn't letting me click on the link, it does NOTHING, and after 60 seconds it takes me to the beginning of the movie, CHAPTER 1)
NOW, I go to the Scene 1 for movie 1, I link the object in the middle of the circle to go to MENU 1, by right clicking, choose link, and then choose MENU 1
I then give the FORWARD object a link to "Scene 2 for Movie 1"
and the exact same thing for the other 2 scene selection screens..
normally if it was working right I would change the background for all the scene selection pages, put transitions, etc...
But, this was just a straight forward, easy dvd that should have worked, if i'm doing it right..
Just a menu page that comes up when you start it, a link to go to the first chapter selection page, links on the first chapter seletion page to go BACK to the menu1, and to the NEXT chapter selection page,
and I forgot to mention on the 2nd chapter selection page, there is also a BACK object that I link BACK to chapter selection page 1 for movie 1, and of course the object in the middle to go back to MENU1, and a forward object to go to the THIRD chapter selection page..
OH, and then I go to PROJECT, COMPILE DVD.. I get no ERRORS
and here is a pic of what it looks like, and what is selected.. in case I'm not doing something right..
I save it to a folder on the hard drive,
BUT, the strange thing is.. THE ONLY files that show up in the VIDEO_TS folder for this movie.. IS
_menu.vob
VTS_01.vob
VTS_01_1.vob
NO IFO's, BUP'S or anything like that.. When I try to bring it up in WINDVD, it does NOTHING, it won't even bring it up.. and like I said if I open the VIDEO_TS folder in VLC then it will come up w/ the menu, the object is THERE that is suppose to LINK to SCENE 1 FOR MOVIE 1, but it DOES NOTHING.. after 60 seconds it just goes to the first chapter of the movie.. I can't go to the scene selection page..
ALSO
For the heck of it I was going to burn it anyway just to see if it would work on my dvd player downstairs, I use NERO BURNING ROM, I choose DVD VIDEO.. like always
I try to move the
_menu.vob
VTS_01.vob
VTS_01_1.vob
files to the VIDOE_TS folder in NERO but it comes up w/ an ERROR it says..
The following files may not reside in the VIDEO_TS directory of a dvd-video compilation:
VTS_01.vob
_MENU.VOB
Only compliant DVD-Video files
('video_ts.ifo, 'vidoe_ts.vob', 'video_ts.bup', 'vts_nn_0.ifo', 'vts_nn_0.vob', 'vts_nn_0.bup', "vts_nn_mm.vob')
can be added to the VIDEO_TS folder. Please add the files from a completed dvd-video title or use an authoring software like nerovision express to create dvd-video files from standard video files such as *.avi & *.mpg.
what am I doing wrong? This is just a plain dvd, nothing fancy.. is there something in the DVD COMPILE page that I'm not enableing or something?
I would REALLY appreciate any info that you might have.. any suggestions..
Thanx sooo much

OK,
I have now learned a few things..
The problem that I am having is when it is compileing the DVD it STOPS w/ an error.. I have read that alot of people are getting this error, but nothing that I have read has worked..
The error says...
The compile process can't continue and has been aborted. If your source files are non-elementary files, demultiplex them first and use these to compile the DVD again.
I have tried using a VOB file from another movie that I have and tested it, since I have now learned that you can TEST is compilation by replacing the videos w/ Dummie files or whatever.. and the other movies vob file worked..
the vob file that I am trying to use that isn't working I made THIS WAY..
It started out as an AVI file, I used DIVXTODVD to create the vob files... I made 8 vob files, to put 4 episodes on EACH DVD.. the ones that I am trying to use in DVDLAB PRO 1.52 was numbers 5,6,7, & 8
I renamed them as 1, 2, 3, & 4
I then used IFOEDIT to CREATE IFO FILES
When I add the first episode just to TEST the compilation it is ONLY 1 VOB files, some of the other episodes are 2 vob files, but I went ahead and tried choose to JOIN the VOB files w/out demuxing them or whatever to make a big vob file, then loaded the big VOB file, and then chose the first option to transfer them to MKV and AC3 FILES
Someone tell me if the RATIO of the AC3 File is OK
Cause I have read that it has to be a CERTAIN FPS and stuff
here is how it, and all of the others are..
ok
the ac3 file goes
SIZE= ch2
FPS= 48 kHz
RATIO= 192 kbps
SYSTEM= Dolby 2.0
THE MPV files are
SIZE= 720x480
FPS= 29.97
RATIO= 16:9
SYSTEM= NTSC
if those are ok what do I need to do? Do i need to try to Transfer them AGAIN w/ DIVXTODVD? OR should I do it w/ a different app?
There are a few of the eps that start out as MPG, but the others started out as AVI
I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me why my vob files are causing the error in the compilation..
Thanx, I really appreciate it
