  1. i just got a new dvd burner, pioneer 108, it can write duel layer, that is dvd9 right????

so i'm wondering, is it possible to back up a dvd9 into dvd9?? because i've been reading those guides in the site and all they teaches are dvd9 to dvd5, so i'm wondering is dvd9 to dvd9 the exact same way to backup???? or is it different?? what software? i have nero and dvdshirk, i'm wondering how to do it?? any one know???

  2. Your best bet is probably DVD Decrypter.

Yes... dvd decrypter should take care of region checking for you.

The default settings in DVDDecrypter make it region free.

Quality is not an issue with a Dual Layer burner. All you need to do is decrypt the original DVD9.
    DVDDecrypter - hence the name..
Of course we are talking about you owning and using dual layer recordable DVD's right?

There's no compression involved... it's either a functional copy, or it's a coaster. "Quality" is not in the discussion. You should be concerned about compatibility.

  15. hmmm so if it works then it's a exact copy... so it's simply a problem of work or not......?

    Here's a walkthrough for you ...

    ISO Read Mode - http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/ISODVDDecrypterV3220.htm
    ISO Write Mode - http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/BurnDVDDecrypterV3220.htm

This produces a 1:1 copy, so as mentioned, there is no concern regarding quality as it is exactly the same as the original.

As also mentioned by quite a few people, try it yourself and find out
    If in doubt, Google it.

  18. My first DL burn was with Ray in ISO Read and ISO Write and it came out perfect. Plays in both DVD players that I have and even in my X-Box. Give it a try as it's very easy. Only problem for me is the cost of the media.

  19. I'm shopping for a DL burner myself and would like to be sure that DVDDecrypter doesn't kill the layer break on +DL media (as I remember there was thread about this issue awhile back, but don't remember title to search). But it looks to me that there's a default setting in the ISO Write settings that lets it calcuate optimal settings (DVDD 3.5.2.0). Personally, I'd like to have it exactly as the original disk.
