    Out of a bunch of processing and editing video tools I have found the best results so far are with Virtual Dub however I can't see any option to join the sequence of avi files I get in output mode. Does anyone know if such option is available and if not what would be the next best option to join AVI files thanks

    Use File -> Open to open the first file, then File -> Append AVI segment to append the subsequent file(s).

    If you name your files with numbers like:

    file00.avi
    file01.avi
    file02.avi
    file03.avi
    file04.avi

    VirtualDub can automatically append all the additional files (controlled by a checkbox on the append file dialog).
