I have a motherboard with dual DDR capabilities (4 slots). I am currently using 1x512mb @ 333mhz.
I have a faulty 512mb 400mhz memory chip that I will be sending back as soon as I have some info on this subject.
Should I get another 512mb @ 333mhz and utilize the dual-ddr capabilities of my motherboard or should I just use 1x512mb @ 400mhz ?
Is dual (2x512mb @ 333mhz) faster perfomance than single at a higher bus speed? (1x512mb @ 400mhz)?
(I am looking for speed right now, not future expansion)

Single 400MHz RAM. More bandwidth. I have dual-channel RAM in my machine and it doesn't make too much difference compared to a higher bus speed.
