    I have Battle Royale in a *.divx format. I want to convert it to a mpg so i can author it to a dvd. When i try converting it with TMPGenc, once the proccess is complete, any player I open the new Mpg with automatically crashes. I tried renaming the .divx file to .avi, but it still didn't work. Any ideas on the prolbem.


    BTW:

    its using Xvid codec.
    I'm using subtitles during conversion to permanently add them in.

    It probably has nothing to do with the avi, but rather your default mpeg-2 decoder. Try playing it in WinDVD or PowerDVD. Media Player Classic has a built in mpeg-2 decoder as well.

    yep. thats what it was. I used powerdvd to view it, and it workedl ike a charm.
