  1. Just got a new Blu-ray drive, and my intent was to copy video files to BD-R (not converting the video files, straight copy with a standard directory structure, not a "video disc") and play those files from disc on a PS3. The video types are types that can be natively played on a PS3 (avi/divx/mpg converted from mkv via mkv3vob). After all I can do this very thing with a DVD-R or DVD-DL.

It's not working. The disc is not recognized at all, there is nothing to select on the PS3. So can this be done? All info I've found searching around seem very vague on this question. I've tried copying the files into a folder called VIDEO (somehow supposed to help), and not.

Will any product do this? I do not want to convert video files to a blu-ray format as a "video disc".

  2. I searched this forum directly for just the right thing and found the solution. I did what the poster with the LG player claimed he did and this works for the PS3 also.
