After reading around on here i thought id go for dvd lab to use to author and what an excellent prog it is! Only problem being i have spent ages sorting out a syncing problem finally got it working and now when i put the film on a dvd-r it loses sync!
I would say its at the last 20-30 minutes and is very minimal but its something that annoys me !
Is there anything i can do to stop this i did go out about getting my file a strange way but didnt think that would make a differnece!!?!
Thanks for any help sorry if this is posted in the wrong place

Tell us more about the sources:
Where did the video come from? audio?
Was it originally PAL or NTSC?
Were they elementary streams or did they exist as a VOB?-----------------------------------------------------

Ok heres the way i got it!
Downloaded and xvid at 23.976 opened in vdub extracted audio then saved as avi changing framrate to 25fps used goldwave to match audio with video length, used vdub to use THAT audio and the avi which is now 25fps....Result a perfectly synched avi.
Use mainconcept to conver to mpeg2 that resulted in a perfect looking mpeg2 no synching problems whatsoever then made a little menu in dvdlab and saved all the files.
Used nero to burn to dvd
put in dvd player excellent quality and for about the last 20 mins the mouths are faster than the words! ! ! -
It seems a consistent theme, downloaded video seem to contribute to the majority of issues that people have with authoring their DVDs.
You don't know who/how/what the person encoding did to the video.
Expect unpredictable results. -

IF people work with compliant elementary streams so many of these problems would go away.
ryfool - This is not a shot at you personnally. So many posts here complain about the software tool's quality but never the source they're trying to use.
As andkiich said, if you don't know the sources, expect problems.-----------------------------------------------------

DVDLab never changes or messes up the audio and video streams given to it. That's one of the best things about it IMO.
I've had lots of trouble when converting XVid and MPEG4 video to DVD/SVCD format. Most of the time it works, but 10% of the files have something about them that justs crashes/aborts the conversion.

Thats a different muxing engine and the comparrison would be of interest - if different.
Plus - if it does work then use the VOB directly in DVDLab to see if its better.
cheers
