  1. i had an av1 file of frames 23.976 fps. i converted this in convertxtodvd to vob file as pal. then i have loaded this file in dvdlab. it demuxed and added to the asset. then it showed under the heading system--- 2:3 pulled down. normally it shows pal. instead of pal now it shows 2:3 pulled down. what does it mean? does it have some say in the video quality? can i correct it?

is there a demux button in dvd lab? when we drag something to the asset, it asks for demuxing. besides this,, is there a button in the soft with which we can demux. thanks.

PAL format is 25.00 fps, Your original was NTSC frame rate 23.976 with puldown to make it 29.97. That is why you see 2:3 pulldown.
I do not use convertx so cannot comment on that one, but it looks like it changed framerate.
Do not know how good that software is, but you can always compile project and play it in software player to see result.
Lab give you choice to demux on start, when you place items in an asset window.
It is a good idea, because Lab like to work with elementary streams.

It sounds like you normally convert all your videos to PAL, and this time you left it as native NTSC. If you are able to play NTSC material then you are better off avoiding format conversion in the future.

I use HCEnc for encoding most of the time now, with FAVC as my preferred front-end if need to set everything up in a hurry. I authoring DVD Lab Pro if I need menus

I do not use straight encoders, because most of the time I have to fix a few things on the file.
For VHS tapes mostly TMPGEnc Xpress. For DV-AVI, Premiere.
Authoring mostly with DVD Lab Pro.

  6. you guessed correctly Guns1inger. i prefer pal to ntsc. because while played on the dvd player the ntsc colr system with a blueish, i dont like. so i always set it to pal irrespective of the source. thanks and have a nice day.
