hi everybody,
i've just got my DVD burner today and burned my first movie.
i have a problem: no sound.
this is what i did:
1) converted a AVI movie into DVD format through TMPGEnc, hence i have a MPEG2 video file and a .wav audio file as the output.
2) now i go to author it in TMPGEnc DVD author, i select the Mpeg2 video file and make sure it has selected the .wav audio file. it finishes its converting. i check the output folder: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS appear. i select audio_ts and it is empty which i thought was strange, i select video_ts and it has the relavant files.
3) i enter NERO ROM and drag and drop the VIDEO_TS contents into it but carnt do anything about AUDIO_TS. burn it.
4) play it on my PC and PS2, video quality very good but no sound!
what have i done wrong? how do i get the problem solved?![]()

by joe, i think i've cracked it!!!
.
in TMPGEnc, i selected CBR Linear PCM Audio instead of CBR MPEG-1 LAYERll Audio (MP2).
that was the problem.
now i know what to do, the audio is streamed within the MPEG2 video.
just to clarify things up, does PCM audio contain DOlby Digital Sound? -
Hi stb,
...what settings in TMPGEnc do i need to change/set...

If you use it, don't forget to rate it.
Hope that helps. Good luck...There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

PCM audio is 2-channel only. DVD supports PCM by default, any DVD player should play a DVD with PCM audio. You may have the audio menu on the DVD player set wrong.
The AUDIO_TS folder isn't required. Most retail DVD's don't use one. -
