I am ripping a dvd-r of a movie a copied from a VHS tape to .avi with Magic Dvd ripper, and everytime the audio comes out very slightly off sync. When I watch the disc using PowerDVD is perfectly in sync, but when I try to rip it onto my hardrive in another format it's off sync. I've tried using a different program to rip it, I've tried using a +R instead of a -R, I've tried ripping it on another computer, and nothing seems to work. I have tried several different discs and they all come out the same, perfectly in sync when played as a DVD, but off sync when I try to rip it as an .avi. What should I do?

WHat programs have you tried? I would try AUtoGK, HandBrake and FairUse Wizard. My favorites dvd to avi rippers.

But as my learned colleague has pointed out, sometimes it is easier to fix it in post.Read my blog here.
