I am ripping a dvd-r of a movie a copied from a VHS tape to .avi with Magic Dvd ripper, and everytime the audio comes out very slightly off sync. When I watch the disc using PowerDVD is perfectly in sync, but when I try to rip it onto my hardrive in another format it's off sync. I've tried using a different program to rip it, I've tried using a +R instead of a -R, I've tried ripping it on another computer, and nothing seems to work. I have tried several different discs and they all come out the same, perfectly in sync when played as a DVD, but off sync when I try to rip it as an .avi. What should I do?

I already tried AUtoGK and it gave me the same result.

Just fix it by adding in the proper delay, rather than beating your head against a wall trying this program and that.

Why are you using any form of ripper when you can just copy the files to your HDD ? It could be the ripper that is the cause of your problems, not the conversion.

But as my learned colleague has pointed out, sometimes it is easier to fix it in post.
