I have my JVC upconverting DVD player (Model No: XV - N650) connected to my Onkyo reciever (home theater) with HDMI for video and regular red/white outputs for audio. My receiver is connected in turn to my Panasonic plasma TV through an HDMI cable. This setting was working perfect till yesterday and all of a sudden there is audio only coming out of the home theater and not from my TV. It is very baffling as it was working fine till yesterday and stopped all of a sudden. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day.

Make sure the input on the receiver matches the HDMI that you connected the dvd player to.

Thank you for your reply, the thing is I have not touched the settings on anything to make it work differently. Also the receiver is getting the audio from the DVD as I hear the sound coming out of my home theater speakers alone instead of home theater and TV as it always was the case. Thanks for your interest.

Also there is no problem with the audio on my TV as my cable is connected the same way has audio coming out perfectly from both TV and home theater.

Have you turned off the speakers on the TV?
I don't know why you want the tv sound as well as the receiver.
    It just distorts it.

I have not turned off the speakers on the TV because my TWC cable audio comes through perfectly from both the TV and Home Theater. I like both of it together as the effect is better due to their placement.

Is this a new movie by chance? I have heard of issues like this with DTS sound tracks the audio can not route to the TV? Are using the TV as a center channel by chance?

I have tried it with a whole bunch of DVD's and encounter the same issue with all of them.
