you must either cut or reconvert a video. you can't overburn on dvd.

  3. Plextor is an exception to the DVD overburning rule, if by some chance you have a Plextor burner. I don't know of any other drives that do overburning, but a Plextor would be able to fit 4511mb.

But I wouldn't trust it to be readable on anything else.

I suppose there'd be drives that might have trouble with the discs, but over at Cdfreaks people have been overburning +R discs to 4600+mb and they read back on other drives fine. This isn't the same as weird GigaRec or similar oddball ideas, I believe the Plextor simply writes into the Lead-out area, where some discs would probably handle more additional data than others before reaching their limits.

  6. Try zipping the files up in winrar or winzip.
    Quality is my policy.

That's the best advice yet :P

Normally you can't compress video hardly at all, but since he only needs about 25mb out of about 4500mb of additional space, it might be able to be compressed just enough to fit.

    That little sentence changes everything.
First, add the running length of all 11 files together. Use this time in a bitrate calculator. You'll get a bitrate to use when encoding to DVD specs. With this bitrate, encode each file to DVD specs mpeg. How and with what to do that, depends on the source file format. See the convert section for ??? to DVD suggestions.
Finally author all 11 mpg to Video DVD using some kind of authoring app like TMPGEnc DVD Author.
