I have a Cendyne (209)/Pioneer A05/105 dvd-rw. I recently ordered Ritek 2x dvd-rw(s) from Meritline.com. When I opened them up, I was initially disappointed that they weren't labeled 'Ritek', but regulart blank disks, with a very small 'Ridata' logo on the inner plastic of the disk. I figured I'd try anyway, to see if dvd-decrypter identified them as Ritek by the media code.
However, when dvd-decrypter attempts to read them, it give an 'Authentication Failed' error; something about 'Flag = False' (I'll post the exact message later). Anyways, I'm debating whether I should return them. As I've read in these forums, it's a real pain to return/exchange merchandise with meritline, and the dvd-rw's do work. I used RecordNow to burn an image file, and it recorded at 2x, and plays fine.
The problem is, it's a MAJOR inconvenience if I can't use dvd-decrypter to rip the contents of a dvd-rw to my hd! I haven't tried a different ripping program yet - I probably should. But I figure if dvd-decrypter can't read it, no programs will.
Has anyone else had this experience?
