  1. I am looking to buy some Ritek DVD-R inkjet printable discs from Meritline. What are the differences between the RiData G05 8X and the RiData PRO Series 8X? I don't really care about the hub or the cake box, just the disc quality itself, is there a difference? I've emailed Meritline, but they didn't reply.

  2. I have both, both have same code RITEKG05; both look the same; feel the same; print the same -- I was wonder about the same thing. I vaguely remember they were supposed for different markets (not sure which one is for where.) Funny enough, RiDATA PRO has two UPC code: 846-1220-14576 and 471-9303-523487.

Just more branding/marketing. Some people buy things simply because it says "pro".

My understanding was that they were trying to compete with Taiyo Yuden. Taiyo had introduced WaterShield blank media for inkjet disc printers - Unlike normal inkjet discs, WaterShield is water resistent, scratch resistant, and featured a glossy finish. Difficult to find the PRO white inkjet hub printable for Ridata (they used to sell for 30-40% less then Taiyo). Taiyo still best inkjet printable around and very hi quality media.
