DVD Decrypter: File Mode total size double that of ISO read mode

What would cause some of my homemade discs to show the DVD structure files duplicated in File Mode (two separate, almost identical VTS titles), effectively doubling the size of the disc when ripping in file mode? ISO read mode shows and rips the proper size file, but ripping in File Mode doubles the space used on my harddrive. Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly, so here is an example:

EDIT: After ripping the ISO, the file structure shows the same in ISO Buster as well in the ripped image.

IFO mode shows the titles duplicated as well, except that VTS1 shows 2 2:00 PGCs, and VTS2 shows 2 0:30 PGCs, when in reality there are only 1 of each.

What is reported in Windows Explorer when you right-click on the the VIDEO_TS folder?
If the disc is unencrypted then simply drag and drop to your desktop.

Try DVDFab Decrypter and see what it reports.

The two titles reference the same VOB files. To rip them as two separate titles each title gets a copy of the VOBs. It's like having the table of contents in a book where the chapters reference the same pages. Chapter 1 = pages 3 to 50, Chapter 2 = pages 3 to 50, etc.

Thanks, moviegeek, Explorer reports the same, double VOB files for both title sets.

jagabo, that makes sense...I'm just trying to figure out how some of them are referencing the same VOB files, and other discs are fine, created by the same DVD recorder.
