  1. Hi People

I am trying to create a SVCD with DVDMF2 of a widescreen AVI (562x240 if I remember correctly). When I run it it stretches the image to fullscreen, with everyone very tall and thin on 4;3. I edited the DVDMF2 .ini file for advance settings and was able to add the advanced selection. From this I chose 16:9 but the resulting SVCD was still not in the correct ratio.

Does anyone know how make further changes in DVDMF2. The boxes for resolutions are greyed out.

I have created a VCD mpeg1 with correct ratio in Tmpeg (don't have mpeg2 capability after trial period). I was able to keep the aspect ratio. Only mpeg2 encoder is in DVD Movie Factory is there any way to create plain mpeg2 files here in variable resolutions?

    Anyone got any bright ideas.

VCD isn't bad but would prefer SVCD.

    Thanks

    It works for me.

When you say the SVCD was "still not in the correct ratio," what specifically do you mean?

  3. The ratio is still too tall and thin when played on 4:3 TV. It definately worked in that it letterboxed the image, it just wasn't quite right. With Tmpeg I was able to keep the aspect ratio, do my mpeg (mpeg1 only) was correctly letterboxed.

    Thanks anyway

  4. Sorry that last sentence made no sense. Preview before posting.

I should have said with Tmpeg I am able to keep the correct aspect ratio and it letterboxes correctly. This is only mpeg1 as I don't have mpeg2 facility with Tmpeg or I could create with that and author with VCD Easy, Nero or DVD Movie Factory.

    Cheers

    Why no MPEG-2 facility?

    I'm curious.

  7. Thanks Guys

Too cheap to buy full version with mpeg2 as it mpeg2 encoding part of DVDMF2.

    Cheers

  8. DVDMF2's encoder is poor in comparison. TMPGenc is worth the price.
