I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO EDIT THE SOUND ON DVD'S AND FINALLY DID IT SUCCESSFULLY. THIS IS HOW I DID IT, SINCE I AM NEW TO THE WHOLE THING MAYBE I WAS JUST LUCKY BUT THIS IS THE SEQUENCE.
1. RIPPED DVD TO HARD DRIVE WITH SMARTRIPPER
2. DEMUXED WITH DVDLAB TO AC3 AND M2V FILES
3. USED BESWEET TO CONVERT AC3 FILE TO WAV
4. EDITED WAVE FILE WITH COOL EDIT PRO ( SILENCED BAD WORDS )
5. USED BESWEET TO CONVERT BACK TO AC3 FILE
6. USED DVDLAB TO LOAD AC3 AND M2V FILES FOR ENCODING
7. AUTHORED DVD TO HARD DRIVE WITH DVDLAB, HAD TO ADD BUTTON AND SET TIMERS, USED 10 SECONDS ON THE THREE SETTINGS.
8. BURNED WITH VERITAS RECORD NOW.
NOW WHEN WATCHING MOVIE WHEN UNDESIRABLE WORDS COME THERE IS SILENCE. :P

Great job dude. Sounds like a lot of work, but I'm sure it was worth it. It's to bad the movie industry does'nt have seperate audio versions with their movies. You don't need foul language to make a good film.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
Instead of silence you could probably insert a slang word into the portion deleted also. I remember seeing a DVD Player (Toshiba I think) that recognized a large number off offensive words and replacing them with slang words .... but I've never heard how successful it was. I bought it but it wouldn't play SVCDs so I took it back. Shame.
