  1. My knowledge on MKVMerge is nonexistent so I come to thee, my video editing overlords and ask for thine devine input.

The problem - whenever I edit an MKV, be it to add subtitles or switch default audio tracks, it produces an MKV which plays fine on my computer with the adjustments, but no longer streams to my PS3 with PS3 media server, returning the message : "The data/file is corrupted".

Examples - Film "A" : On the left is the original MKV with german as the default audio, when it streams to my PS3 it's the german audio and I can't change the audio tracks on the PS3 (I think) so I tried to switch the default audio track to the english one with MKVMerge (on the right). The only changes I made to it was clicking on the English audio, clicking 'Up' so it goes above the German audio, changed the 'Default track flag' on the German from 'Yes' to 'No' and vica versa on the English. I clicked 'Start Muxing', and it produces an MKV which when streamed to the PS3 via PS3 Media Server returns the corrupted data message. Interestingly, the new MKV file plays fine on the PC as I mentioned BUT windows does not generate a thumbnail image for it (instead of having an image screenshot from the movie as its icon, it just has the standard Windows Media Player icon).

Film "B" : (from outer space) - I have a movie which is in English, but there are no english subtitles for the occasional foreign language spoken parts. I downloaded the relevant .srt subtitle file (subs for non-english parts), imported both the MKV and .srt subs into MKVMerge, changed 'Default track flag' on the .srt subs to 'yes' and changed the foreign language subs that came with the MKV to default 'No'. After muxing, the output MKV again plays fine on my PC (plays the non-english subs at the right times) although not creating a thumbnail icon, and returns the corrupted data message when streamed to the PS3.

Ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
