  1. Hi. I'd like to know if there's a way to rip episodes off a DVD?

    A little explanation. (I followed the GKnot DVD=>DivX at doom http://www.doom9.org Guides --> Divx / Xvid --> DivX5)

    I've gotten Evangelion (a Japanese Anime) and I was ripping the DVD's with GKnot / Robot4Rip and everything was fine because the .VOB was one large file with all episodes on it (each episode is ~23minutes long and the .VOB was ~152mins long) (4 episodes). So I could rip the entire thing and then split it up later.

    After a few DVD's they decided that they'd seperate each episode into it's own file and only put 3 episodes per disc, so I thought that I'd just rip each one separately:

    VTS_04_0/PGC 1 [00:23:34]
    VTS_05_0/PGC 1 [00:23:34]
    VTS_06_0/PGC 1 [00:23:34]

    That didn't work and the vobs ended up being ~57mins (for VTS 04), ~35min (for VTS 05) and ~23mins (for VTS 06) while the ripped Audio wasn't the right audio for the episode.

    A screenshot of what I'm talking about is here http://rufus.envy.nu/r4r.htm

    Any info is helpful thanks. I don't mind if there's a way to rip the 3 episodes to one large file, or ripping them separately if need be. As long as I can rip them and have Audio/Video sync.

    Ultimately I want to burn to VCDs. But as long as I can get the DVD to an AVI I can work from there.

    I think DVDDecrypter will let you have the result you're looking for with ripping seperate chapters or episode IMO. If that doesn't work then I guess its off to DVD2SVCD.
