I have a movie, Super troopers which is a dvd rip .avi file and its 716 MB. Is there anyway to put it on a cd? I just want to be able to keep all my avi's on cds rather then on my hd, and would rather not convert them into a vcd or split them into 2 cd's. Thanks in advance. OH! Also, sometimes when I try to cut and paste some avi movies and delete some they wont let me, a error comes up saying a program is using it...however I dont have it open

If your burning program and your burner support overburn then it might fit, else try some of the oversize CD-r's (900Mb I think).
Let me guess you're running XP? Try this: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/100406.php

You can try overburning. Nero can do it, not really sure of the exact options.

you can cut off the credits at the end, and if that's not enough than you can reduce the audio bitrate, and if that's not enough than you can reduce the video bitrate. But remember that you will lose some of the audio and video quality if you are doing this. here is a guide that might help you as well:
