    hi all, newbie here could anyone please advise me how to sort this probem out , atm the cds i have are all 700mb but the files over 900 so wont burn obviously does anyone have any quick fixes to sort this

    You have a few choices.
    1) Re-encode the file (this is what Baldrick's suggestion will do) to a smaller size, but you will lose quality doing this. This may not meet your definition of "quick" either as it will take time to re-encode.
    2) Use some AVI editor to split the file into 2 pieces and burn each to a separate disc. VirtualDub can do this, for example.
    3) Use higher capacity discs such as 90 or 99 minute CD-Rs (assuming you can find them) or DVDs. A 99 minute CD-R might be large enough to hold your file as is, but I'm not sure. Note that 99 minute CD-Rs are tricky to burn and some devices may not burn them correctly and they may not play back correctly. I've found 90 minute CD-Rs to be reliable for burning and playback.
