I know it is possible to join two movies into one with DVD2One but is it possible to make a seamless transition? For example, I want to join Back to the Future 1 and 2 onto a dual layer but I want to cut out the credits in Part 2 so that it flows seamlessly. Is there a way to do this in DVD2One or does it require addtional software with extensive editing capabilities? Is there anyone into fan editing films here (specifically on a mac), any good threads?

I don't know of any specific fan editing mac websites,
I usually hang out at over here and listen to not
only their podcast, but check out some of the works.
What you suggest can be easily done, albeit with a little work.
1. Rip the DVDs with MTR as Main Feature Only.
2. Open each MF VOB in Mpegstreamclip, cut out the end credits,
save back each as elementary streams.
3. Re-Author a New DVD in Toast, which will play the movies
back to back, or opt for DVD Studio Pro, where you can
join both movie's assets on a timeline to insure they play
back seamlessly."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

You should select movie-only/join mode in DTOX and then, when ripping the first movie, deselect the last cell (or two). When ripping the second movie you may want to deselect the first cell (or two ?) if it's a film with discrete intro titles rather than one wherre the action is happening at the same time as the credits/theme etc.

Thanks ffooky. Is there anyway to "see" what part of the movie is stored in the cell or is it just a guessing game?

If you're lucky and the cells correspond with the chapters the you can simply check with VLC/DVD Player. Of course, it may well be that deselecting the last/first chapter is the way to go but I suppose it's worth knowing that you cn go down to cell level if necessary.
Remember to select the correct option in DTOX to join titles. It's two plus signs as I recall but I don't have the app installed on the machine I'm in front of, sorry. -
Never tried it but I'd presume so. It'd seem odd not to offer the same options as a single movie only rip.

Signing back in terryj. Yeah, about that dvd authoring business...

as per your earlier question, yes you can de-select cells in DTOX.
have you tried ffooky's method's yet?"Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

I tried his method but it's not specific enough. The cells do correspond with the chapters but I need to edit "within" the chapters themselves and deselecting the cells isn't enough.
