    Recently (since I got the latest version of SVCD2DVD about 2 weeks) I have been having problems with the menu's I create.

    Everything goes as normal during the SVCD2DVD process and the disc works fine. Except.....the roll overs on the menu don't work.
    The menu doesn't change as you try to navigate...... so you can't tell which movie you are about to play.............it been a bit pot luck which movie you get. You can never tell which button has been selected.

    I have played around with the colours so that I am sure I have a high contrast (between roll over states). I have encoded the menu in NTFS and PAL but I just get the same result. The menu looks fine but nothing changes during navigation.

    I tried one of the discs in my computer and the roll over appears to work once and then stop. And then you can't tell which button you are on.

    I have reset the factory settings to no avail. I have re-downloaded the proggie and reinstalled still no change.

    Can you preview the menu and tell me if that exhibits the same issue? If it does can you zip up the D:\Documents and Settings\dunncha\Local Settings\Application Data\Badger I.T.\SVCD2DVD 2.5\2.5.3200.0\menu folder BEFORE you close the preview and attach it to your reply?

    Hi Chrissy

    I have tried to preview the menu and all I get is is the 'Video_TS.IFO' file open as a plain text file. This maybe be something to do with my file associations.

    I have attached the menu folder as requested. (It is a rar format)

    That's how I have tried to preview. Using the big button which says Preview on the menu creation screen) The file opens as plain text file. Here is the contents of the file:

    What process/proggie is supposed to open the file. I have explored the directory and I can open the Menu .vob (VTS_01_1.VOB) file in PowerDVD but this just shuts down straight away so I don't get a chance to try the buttons.

    There is file called menu.mpg and this does open (in windows Media Player) but there is no menu action. I did open the video folder using DVD Shrink and viewed using the Preview but still no button action.

  6. Interesting, never had that happen that way, which is why I thought you might have misunderstood.

    Do you have a software DVD player installed on your PC? That's where the preview should open.

    Easyist way is to right click on the Video_TS.IFO file and open PowerDVD. Once you have done this once the "Preview" button will always launch that to preview.

    When I converted my avis to dvd then put them onto a disc I have a problem, the root menu buttons don't work it will only play all the files meaning when I try to select one of the tv episodes in the root menu say episode 2 it just stops the starts episode 1. The way I can view the 3 episodes is watch them all in one go. I would much rather be able to pick an episode than after watch them all in one go. Regards

    Yes I tried both a friend just downloaded svcd2dvd and hes having the same issues. If the guy who made this software is around sometime I would be greatful if he could help me with the problem.

    That is a log for you previewing the menu. Have you got the log of the runn where you processed and burnt the DVD?

    You created and burnt a DVD. I will need to see the log from that run as the log you posted is the log that is created when you click on the preview button.

    If you can't work out which log to post, just zipp the lot up and attach it. Then give me a clue it what movie which day you did it etc.

    When the dvd has been created in the vst folder I close your program then click on imageburn. I also preview the menu in nero before I start to create a dvd with your program to try the root menu buttons but, the menu go's black then reverts back to the root menu. The logs I have showed you are the only ones I have. Can you tell me how to link image burn to your program instead of having to close your program then open up imageburn myself?

    That is what happens when previewing the menu... you get a preview of how the menu will look/work.

    Ok if you have no other logs in your logs folder... Can you just do a quick run so i can see a log of a completed process?

    Fine. I am guessing that you expected the "menu preview" to preview the whole dvd rather than just the menu. Also that if you do a complete run that the DVD you end up with - its menu will work fine...

    Look. To get to the bottom of this - i need to see a log from a run where you have actually created a DVD. Your first log is from when you click the preview button. Your second log is from ImgBurn. Niether help me to get to the bottom of this...

    What i am saying is: If you can't show me a log from your last COMPLETE DVD then if you do it again you will be able to send me the new log. I also think that if you do it again you will find that everything works as expected.

    Can you tell me how to link the burning software to your program? How do I get to logs? are the logs you've asked for, are they the same logs I have showed you already or am I showing you the wrong log?

    Install ImgBurn unless you already have it.

    In the SVCD2DVD settings point to the ImgBurn.exe:



    Then tell S2D to use image burn:



    Then - if you choose to - S2D will burn your DVD using ImgBurn...

    As stated: i have no log so far from you which help me with my crystal ball.
