It depends on how fast a DVD rom drive you have and how fast your processor is. Probably no more than an hour, and could be quite a bit less.

Ripping depends primarily on your DVD-ROM and the speed and configuration of your hard drive(s).
Secondary factors include amount of RAM, the complexity of encryption on the DVD, how fragged your hard drive is, CPU, and I'm sure there are many more.
Transcoding is much the same, although the CPU has a greater influence on the fluctuation of transcoding speeds than any other factor.If in doubt, Google it. -
But would it be realistic for a single computer to take days to do it? Surely the iBook G3 can work faster than that?
