I have made a high quality DivX. Unfortunately, it comes out at 5gb. I know with mpg you can transcode it and remove bits to squeeze it down. Is there a way to do this with AVI files? I no I could reencode at lower stats but I would prefer to just squeeze this one down similar to a way dvd shrink does.

    Any advice gentlemen?

I can promise you that guns1inger understood exactly what you asked, but the answer is no, you cannot do what you propose. There is no such tool for AVI files. You MUST re-encode to get a smaller size file.

  5. There is no DCT domain transcoder for divx like there is for MPEG2.
