You could just let Ulead create the folders then load them into DVDShrink. I've done that on several occasions when my fancy menu ended up making the final product a bit oversized.
I would first check the settings on MF3 though....2gb is WAY too much to be just a menu.

Obviously UMF reencodes. If your capture is DVD compliant, I think there's a setting in UMF not to reencode already compliant sources. Or use a "real" authoring app like TMPGEnc DVD Author or DVDAuthorGUI. Guaranteed not to reencode.

Not sure if that option is availble in MF, it is available in VS and DVDWS. If it is there will be a check box on the burn menu dialog box which is the very last menu.

In that case, I wouldn't touch MF even with a long poole. (Perhaps that's why I don't? ) Apply the "Or" clause from my earlier post.

It's only a $50 program but it does everthing too (in a limited way)..... I refer to as a appetizer program to entice you to uprade. Personally I'd upgrade it to at least VS which has many high-end options such as "do not convert compliant". There's many options not available in MF, I don't even think it supports 16:9

I have MF2 and it has the option:

MF2's only really good function is the "edit disc" function. It will edit an RW disc right on the disc with nothing touching the hard drive. I use it to change the ugly Philips DVD Recorer menus to something a bit more appealing.
My main program is TMPGEnc DVD Author though....but for $4 on Ebay...it's a pretty good bargain...

  11. Ulead Movie Factory has the "Do not convert MPEG compliant files" option, but as soon as you make any edits to the movie, even just trimming a few frames at the end, it reencodes the entire file.
