I edit my DV video in Adobe Premiere 6.01. The CCE SP plugin for AP6 works, but it requires not to touch the computer during the encoding process. I would prefere to use the standalone CCE SP MPEG-2 encoder, but it does not accept my DV AVI files! It says: 'Couldn't find appropriate video codec for "dsvd"'

Please someone give me a clue how to handle this.

You need to install DV codec, like MainConcept, in your Windows system.

I have a Canopus installed as well as the MainConcept codec. And Windows Media Player does not hesitate to playback the DV AVI files. Windows Explorer says in file properties that the video format is unknown though...

  4. install that free Canopus DV file converter..
read my (rough draft reference) DVD2SVCD Advanced Reference for the links. I'm really new to this stuff too so don't be suprised at inaccurate info...Don't sue me.

I just installed a CCE SP 2.64 demo version and it worked fine with my DV files! No complains about wrong 'dsvd' codec. This would be great but 2.64 inserts CCE logo into the output.
