    is there some type of software out there which i can buy, to possible reneame alot of files all at the same time...eg..give them all the same file extension..holla back

    I found quite a few others with a Google search of 'file extension renamers'

    EDIT: No problem. I was suprised that these were that common. The one above is one I may bookmark. Sorry, had to retype the original response as I left out the URL. I'm the dumb one I guess.

  4. Also --From a command line you can change to the directory containing the files and type in "ren *.oldext *.newext"

    ex: ren *.doc *.txt

    This would rename files with doc extension to txt extension. Of course GUI freeware that spans directories or can search out an entire drive is nice !!
