Hi guys. I'm new here and trying to find a way to record episodes of a TV show for my nephew. I'm needing software that will allow me to record a show from TV onto my PC and let me edit out commercials and burn to DVD later on. I was looking at WinTV-USB2.

However, I noticed it says "Live TV from 125-channel cable ready TV tuner or from external audio/video source, on your PC or laptop screen."

Does this mean that if the channel I'm needing to record from is higher than 125 it won't work? The channel is actually 292 and if it doesn't, is there any other software program that can go to higher channels?

Sorry if I sound dumb, I'm just learning stuff and needed help before I went out and bought stuff.

    Thanks.

  2. The device has both a cable/RF tuner and analog video inputs. The tuner can only tune analog channels from 1 to 125 (over the air or cable). You must be using a cable or satellite receiver to receive channels over that. Just hook up the s-video (or composite) and RCA audio outputs from the receiver to the capture device. You'll be able to record whatever the receiver is tuned to.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I'm using a Satellite connection. Again, thank you!
