I'm trying to get the best possible audio for capturing but it sounds like crap. I have the mic wire from the ATI AIW "purple pod" going into the back of my Soundblaster. Is the mic just generally bad for sound quality? Is there another way to hook the video card up to the SB? I notice there is a little white 4 pronged connector on the ATI, what is this for? I don't have any cables that fit it and it doesn't look like it matches any of the ones on the sound card.

I'm not sure if you typed one thing and meant another, but your post implied that you hooked your capture box to the 'mic' input of the sound card, whereas it should probably be hooked up to the 'line in' on the soundblaster. If that's the case, it should sound a lot better by switching to the 'line in'.
