Remove the sound buzz in Vegas Studio Platinum

Hi I have recording a performance and I can hear a very irritate buzz in the background.

I can guess that is some fan that have make it to the microphone.

Is it possible to filter and remove the buzz without destroy the sound to much?

The buzz is on the same frequency all the time and it drive me crazy.

You can try it with an audio editor, which will probably give better results than vegas studio, then re-import the modified audio back into your project

You can try audacity (free) or soundbooth, audition , goldwave, etc...

If the buzz is distinct & repetitive , you should be able to capture an audio noise footprint and remove that from the main track with the noise reduction filters.

yes I going to try that. I remember I did try that long time ago when I did recording a sound. The only problem is that it even remove some of the frequency that should not remove

But I going to give that a change because what I have found that is the best idea.

The key is to capture the noise footprint from a section that has just noise, not the stuff you want to keep, because most noise reduction will try to digitally subtract this noise footprint. (you can try to find it visually on the waveform, while previewing. e.g. it might be a section where there are no vocals or a break in the music, where only the background noise persists)...I hope this makes sense...

You have more control over what gets removed (and better quality) with the more expensive editors, and usually worse quality with free ones , of course.
