  1. I have a DVD with only the DTS audio track left. Can i somehow play it on my dvd, which have a DTS decoder in it (panasonic dmr e100).

All i want is a regular stereo output to my tv.

have you tried putting the dvd IN your player and see (hear) if you have sound ?

it may just be the best test .....

or what happened to the ac3 track on your original dvd? ... use that instead ...

That probably won't work. I don't know of any DVD player that will down mix DTS to stereo. The ones with built in DTS decoders pass the audio thru to a 5.1 analog input on a receiver. You might get the front channels thru the stereo outputs, but the center, sub, and rear channels would be lost. The DVD spec requires a Dolby Digital, MPEG, or LPCM audio file to be present. DTS is supported by the DVD spec, but it's not required. You may be in luck if you have a dvd rom drive. Power DVD XP will decode DTS and mix down to stereo on a PC. You could then run the line out of the sound card into the TV.
