Hello,
I have a DTS audio file at 44khz. I have my DTS enabled surround amplifier via toslink cable.
When I try and play the file via VLC, the audio plays but it doesnt appear to play in DTS. The amplifier display shows PCM as the file output. When I try and play the file in WMP12 or windows media player classic I just get static.
I have a DVD that has a DTS soundtrack and this plays DTS ok on any media player.
Is there any way to get this working?
I have read various things about AC3 filters and different codecs but am yet to find an answer on how to do it.
Anyone help?
Thanks.

your sound card may have to be set to spdif out only.
[edit] are you sure your amp supports 44.1khtz dts? older ones only decoded 48khtz.--

Hi,
1.your amplifier shows 'pcm' or 'lpcm' 'cause yout dts file is already decoded and sent as lpcm or pcm 5.1 by VLC.
2.if you want to see the 'dts' blinking in your amplifier you must feed him with a so called 'bitsream' and your amplifier would do the decoding.....
For this purpose i suggest:
Install ffdshow[under output tab enable the dts pass-through]....disable ac3 filter...so automaticly when you play the dts file in wmp, ffdshow starts too.
Have a nice day,
M
