  1. I have a backup that only has the DTS track. My pioneer dv-333 has a DTS in the menu, but it still won't play the audio even with this checked. My question is, how can I convert the .bup and .ifo files on the DVD to a usable audio format before I burn another DVD?

    Thanks

    You can't.

You would have to 'Rip' the DVD. DeMux. Convert the DTS to AC5.1. Re-author. Burn.

You have to physically convert the DTS track to AC5.1, this is more than messing with an IFO file.

I suspect you Pioneer doesn't actually decode DTS, just pass it through.

  3. Audio:
Up to 8 audio tracks containing DD (Dolby Digital/AC3), DTS, PCM(uncompressed audio), MPEG-1 Layer2. One audio track must have DD or PCM Audio.

  4. As homeboy said, to be ON Spec DVD it Must contain 1 dolby or pcm audio track. With only a dts track, there is no guarentee it will plat at all. If your DVD player supports dts, then i would guess this is your problem. The DTS track would have to be track number 2.

Also 0x80 must contain an audio track(default
if you ripped the backup and stripped out the first stream and left only the dts, the player will most like not be able to find the track.

So you may try reripping and making sure to remap the dts to 0x80.

    Hope this helps.
